Rooftop units can be difficult to protect, the units need to be accessed for maintenance and the rooftop systems often preclude penetrating the surface to attach anchors.

On smaller HVAC units the standoff arms are designed to be attached without screws, making installation quick and simple. HVAC units over 7 feet in length should have the standoff arms secured to the unit with sheet metal screws.

Installation Time:
A smaller unit (7' wide x 7' long x 5' high) took 2 installers 3 hours to complete. A larger unit (8' wide x 25' long x 8' high) took 2 installers 4 hours to complete.
